Training Programs

Are you interested in continuing your education and need assistance with the cost of training?

 

Our CareerSource Chipola centers have multiple training programs available to help you gain the skills you need to land that next job.  A summary on the major programs that we offer follows.  Additional information can be obtained by clicking on the headings of a program listed below that is highlighted.

 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA):  The WIOA Program is one method we may use to help you fund additional training. Through this program our CareerSource Chipola centers provide individuals who may have barriers to obtaining or retaining employment with the appropriate resources, training and supportive services to enable them to become self-sufficient. WIOA training must be in demand occupations listed on the Approved Training Programs list. WIOA Adult Program: The WIOA Adult program is for individuals over the age of 18 who are unemployed or employed, that also meet one of the following criteria: Veteran or eligible spouse, low income or receiving public assistance, basic skills deficient, homeless, or below the local self-sufficiency wage (200% of the federal poverty level). If you are determined eligible for this program, we can provide you with individualized services to help you either find a job or receive training through one of our eligible training providers. If you are interested in applying for assistance through WIOA, you need to complete the online WIOA Pre-Application, which can be accessed by logging in with your kiosk login at the top right hand side of this page (Last name, full SSN). After you log in, click on the "Dashboard" link and you will be able to access the WIOA Pre-Application under "Online Registrations." Following completion of the Pre-Application, a CareerSource Chipola staff member will contact you within the next two weeks. You can also view the WIOA Orientation from this site listed under "Online Orientations."  

WIOA Dislocated Worker Program: Have you recently been laid off from your job through no fault of your own and are eligible for Reemployment Assistance, or have you received notification of an upcoming layoff from your current employer? If so, you may be eligible for the WIOA Dislocated Worker Program. Under this program, you will receive individualized services from one of our Success Coaches who will work to help you find a job or receive training through one of the eligible training providers in our area. If you are interested in applying for assistance through WIOA, you need to complete the online WIOA Pre-Application, which can be accessed by logging in with your kiosk login at the top right hand side of this page (Last name, full SSN). After you login click on the "Dashboard" link and you will be able to access the WIOA Pre-Application under "Online Registrations." WIOA Youth Program: CareerSource Chipola focuses youth funding on out of school youth ages 16 to 24 that are seeking employment. If you are interested in obtaining your high school diploma or GED, obtaining an industry credential, finding your first job, trying a new one, or learning valuable workplace skills, we may be able to help you. You can access the online Youth Pre-Application by logging in with your kiosk login at the top right hand side of this page (Last name, full SSN). After you log in, click on the "Dashboard" link and you will be able to access the WIOA Youth Pre-Application under "Online Registrations." Trade Act Program: The Trade Act Program assists workers who have been laid off or whose jobs have been threatened because of foreign competition. Workers covered under a certified Trade Act Petition may be eligible to receive an array of services and benefits including: training, reemployment services, job search allowances, relocation allowances, trade readjustment allowances, wage subsidy for older workers and health coverage tax credit benefits. Contact your local CareerSource Chipola center or Myra Rowe (850-633-2744; myra.rowe@careersourcechipola.com) for more information. 

Welfare Transition / Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program: This program is designed to provide Temporary Cash Assistance recipients with the training, education, supportive services and skills they need to gain employment. Our Success Coaches will work with you to assess your skills, work history and employability and design a plan for you to help you gain those skills you need to increase your likelihood of self-sufficiency. If you would like more information on this program, you can view our on-line Orientation by logging in with your kiosk login at the top of this page (Last name, full SSN). After you log in, click on the "Dashboard" link then scroll down and click on the WT/TANF Orientation link under Online Orientations. For additional information, contact Viria Brown (850-633-2750; viria.brown@careersourcechipola.com) or Tammy Pumphrey (850-845-0645; tammy.pumphrey@careersourcechipola.com).
